Steve Ford, WB8IMY, is QST Editor and Publications Manager of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the national association for Amateur Radio. He's also Liaison to the Tucson Amateur Packet Radio (TAPR) group for Digital Communication Conferences, administrator of the VHF/UHF Standings database and author of the "Amateur Satellites" column in QST.
He became a licensed amateur in 1971, and his interests in Amateur Radio include digital communications and satellites.
Ford is the author of several ARRL books including "HF Digital Handbook" and "On the Air with Ham Radio." He has also authored several of ARRL's on-line courses.
He joined the ARRL staff in 1991 as Book Editor. He then went on to become QST Managing Editor.
Prior to his employment at the League, he was Director of Advertising for the Bilco Corporation in West Haven, Connecticut.
Ford holds a B.A. degree in English from Wright State University, and an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from ITT Technical Institute.
He lives in Wallingford, Connecticut, with his wife Kathy and daughter Lauren.
Outside of ham radio, Ford enjoys astronomy, computers and writing.
